We began designing and leading guided walking holidays in 2002. Our journey started in Andalucia, our love for southern Spain’s nature parks led us to set up Frontier Holidays of Andalucia, leading small groups on walking tours we had personally designed. During the 18 years since, we have kept a foot in Spain and a foot in Scotland, and homes in both.
In 2006 we began operating guided trips for Exodus and Waymark. Over many years we have become dedicated Camino enthusiasts, and due to increasing interest in independent walking tours on the Camino, we concentrated our efforts on developing tailored guided and independent Camino tours. 6 years on and our parent company, Walk The Camino, specialises in tailored independent walking tours on European and Japanese pilgrimage trails; Via Francigena & St Francis Way in Italy, various routes of the Chemin St Jacques in France, Caminha de Santiago in Portugal, Kumano Kodo and Shikoku 88 in Japan.
In 2009, we established a West Highland Way Welcome Office, at the start of the trail in Milngavie, Scotland. For three years we were privileged to welcome walkers, seven days a week from March to October. It’s safe to say we are closely connected to this route on our doorstep and the experience gave us tremendously useful insight into the needs of international walkers and travellers.
Scotland’s Walks launched in 2020 - we look forward to showing you the best of Scotland. We will be expanding our portfolio of long-distance walks in Scotland and beyond to our neighbours in Ireland, England and The Faroes. We are also preparing multi-interest tours for travellers who enjoy exploring on foot and getting to know a destination in more depth. Scotland certainly has a lot to offer on many levels, but we will always include a fine walk in an inspiring Scottish landscape.
